Welcome to our 6th installment of the Deliberate Way. We have the world-renowned bioethicist, NYU professor Matthew Liao with us today to talk all things about Ethical Dilemmas in Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies!

Matthew is a philosopher, bioethicist and author who is internationally known for his work on a variety of fascinating areas that affect our daily lives, including: novel reproductive technologies, neuroethics, and the ethics of artificial intelligence.

During the day, Matthew is the Arthur Zitrin Chair of Bioethics and is the Director of the Center for Bioethics and Affiliated Professor in the Department of Philosophy at New York University. Matthew is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Moral Philosophy and, in 2019, he was appointed as a Fellow at The Hastings Center,a prestigious bioethics research institute. Matthew’s work has been discussed in, among other places, The Guardian,the BBC,The New York Times,The Atlantic,and Scientific American.

Matthew has more publications than I can count. He’s the author of the book, The Right to Be Loved, and he recently published The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.
