When would you use Idea Burst?

Idea Burst is best used when a group has NOT yet tried to solve the question before. Idea Burst works well when the group has a fresh perspective on the challenge. It also works well as a “warm up” to problem solving or to uncover hidden away ideas.

Here’s where Idea Burst can be a difference maker:

  • Your team needs a more systematic way of producing new ideas for campaigns and offerings
  • Your team is doing strategic planning and you need to generate new growth opportunities, potential markets, or business models
  • Your team is stuck and needs help coming with new ways of working
  • Your old way of brainstorming ideas is not working

How does Idea Burst work?

  • 1
Introduce the focus area / challenge question (HMW Question)
  • 2
Ideate Independently – Diverge AND Converge
  • 3
Refine, Group and Share the starter ideas in a common space
  • 4
Discuss and improve upon the ideas
  • 5
Select the most compelling ideas for further development
